This book is great for apprentices

March 21, 2024 By: Bryce Miller (Victoria, Canada)

Comments
As an apprentice with so many different books to reference, this has so many things that help the learning process for quick ref. materials... not an end all be all book, but for somebody with constant questions to different things I'm trying to learn, it has most of my questions in an easy to read format.

Pros
Easy to read. Most of the information I currently need is there and has proven useful many times.

Cons
I didn't getbthe 10" book, but that's not a CON to this book itself.

A must have in every shop

March 9, 2024 By: Murray Kinson, GEM Engines (North Tamworth, Australia)

Comments
If everybody had one of these books, I’d be out of a job!

Pros
Contains absolutely everything you would ever need to know about basics in the workshop

Cons
Not really a con but I tried to write my name in the back with a pen, only to learn the pages are laminated so that any stains simply wipe off! Being heavy handed with a pencil sorted it out

Engineers black book 3rd edition

February 27, 2024 By: Kiran, Private (Durban, South Africa)

Comments
Very informative. What takes me ages to work out is simply right there on my finger tips.

Pros
Very informative to my trade. Millions of very useful information. Like the cover especially with my greasy hands which I page through the book on a daily bases. Book marks makes things very easy.

Cons
The book is rather expensive but all in all worth it. I gave it a 4 because at the price I paid I wish it came with a drill bit sharpening gauge. Which would have been a really good bonus

Extremely Useful for Quick References

February 24, 2024 By: Blake (Virgie, United States)

Comments
Very easy to read and navigate, makes it simple to find references for quick calculations and conversions! Like many, I also have other reference guides and machinery handbook editions, but find myself going to this one most often.

Pros
Metric and Inch measurements
Extensive thread info
Customizable with labels
High quality paper

Cons
Pocket edition has smallish print, but may look into getting the larger version to be easier to read

ALMOST perfect for a machinist

February 24, 2024 By: Jacob Crowe (Hayden, United States)

Comments
I am a manual and CNC machinist that has had this book on my mind for a long time. I finally got one after seeing a friend's older edition, with the drill gauge in the back. The book is extremely helpful for guys working in a machine shop without much help from engineering, but the one thing for me personally that would have helped would be a good G and M - code reference.

Pros
Equivalent charts, reference tables, drill guides, good pocket size, great paper.

Cons
Just add a CNC code reference and it would be perfect for guys at the machines.
