Probably the the most useful resource in my in my shop! Second to a good shop vacuum you will use this book for nearly every project.
Pros
Covers everything you need for the home shop machinist.
Cons
Would benefit from oil and dirt resistant paper as the pages will get dirty from using this book so much.

Very handy ready reference
Pros
Lots of handy information right at your finger tips
Cons
It could be better in my opinion. In the grinding wheels section, no details at all about the new Cubic Boron Nitride Grinding wheels, grit selections etc.
They are great for cold Dry grinding High Speed & Tool Steel without requiring coolant / water lubrication.
Any modern engineering publication such as this should have the data available for those looking to source grinding wheels or they might not be aware of their existence otherwise.

this is my go to for quick sanity checks or looking up an insert.
Pros
coating on paper is excellent, easy to read and not easily smudged.
Cons
tabs are not just built into the page and aligning them or even finding the page they should be on is a PITA.

I went for the large print edition for easier referencing at my computer desk .
Pros
Clear printing and pictures with easy to use charts.
Cons
missing a few charts that I use (bolt circle) and some I would like to see (bearing size and fit tolerance; G&M code ) but if it had everything it would become too big to be a quick reference.
