Great for in the shop

A must have for the machinist. All the practical data you will need on a daily basis. Leave the bible at the desk for that once in year information.

Pros
Just the common data. Portable size with strong pages that don't rip. Love the coloring of the charts, makes it so easy to find data

Cons
I find the table of contents to be useless, just unneeded pages. The index is so much quicker to find what you need.

Engineers Black Book

December 26, 2019 By: Steven White (Lewistown, United States)

Comments
This is a wonderful reference book. It's consolidated and easier to access the Machinery's Handbook. I would recommend this to everyone that has an interest in machining.

Pros
Easy to Use, Easy to Access, Pocket Size, Great Graphics, Wonderful page coating (keeps dirt and oil off)

Cons
None. I wish more books could be this efficient. No fluff, just information.

Best Source For Quick And on The Fly Information

This is a great source of data for the machine shop. I've been doing cold roll threading for over 20 years and this allows me to find and reference information quickly. Also allows me to explain and teach new trainees.

Pros
Little book, solid and well protected!
Has everything I could ever need.
Great material choice and reference data.

Cons
There are none that I can say!!

This is a great source of data for the machine shop.

Pros
Tons of useful data organized very well. The desktop version is readable without "cheater lenses" too. Big plus.

Cons
Would be nice to have more blank tabs.

Love this book. I'm an engineer and occasionally have to figure out some specs for our machinists/operators. This book is a great reference....and doesn't overwhelm people in the shop. Especially compared to bringing out my machinist handbook.

Pros
great

Cons
just wish i had the drill point gage....it would be VERY helpful!

Book that contains all useful information for the day on the working day! Small and handy! For now I'm not disappointed! It remains to be seen how he resists my intensive use (paper seems very resistant and good quality !)! For now it's has all my approval!

Pros
Little book, solid and well protected!

Cons
The installation of the stickers should have their page number to avoid mistakes!

Nice effort

November 8, 2019 By: Bob Thornton (Skipton, Australia)

Comments
This is a good effort, only marked down as the advertising suggested [to me] that the drill gauge was included.

Pros
A great effort at a big field, nice touch including "standard people" p210.

Cons
Binding a bit tight. Possible inclusion of formulae for any regular polygon...
N = the number of sides, S = the length of each side, R = the radius of a circle through the points (circumscribed), r = the radius of the enclosed (inscribed) circle.
Where α=180/N, R=S/(2sinα) or r/cosα, S=2R x sinα or 2r x tanα, and r=(S x cotα)/2 or R x cosα would improve the content ?

Perfect Reference

November 5, 2019 By: Sam (Hawthorndene, Australia)

Comments
Easy to read and find information as needed. Great for those just starting out to those who just need a quick reference for little used charts.

Pros
Wide ranging for multiple professions.
Teaches as well as informs.

Cons
Would like to see more information about hydraulics/coupling types etc.

Awesome

October 29, 2019 By: Jason Churchill, Cypress Technologies (Leander, United States)

Comments
This book was better than I anticipated. The one thing I truly appreciate it is the Carbide Insert Applications page as it's not always easy to remember what inserts can do what type of machining and this section makes it virtually impossible to choose the wrong inserts.

Pros
Easy to Understand
Sturdy and made for the shop floor
A good selection of knowlege

Cons
Not as in depth as I would have liked
